In ten years, the supporters of the New Albany Main Street Association envision a community that has kept its sense of pride in the downtown area by supporting the retail and professional businesses in such a way that other entrepreneurs will desire to locate in our downtown area therefore keeping vacancy rates at a minimum.
Efforts organized by the New Albany Main Street Association will have increased the number of local as well as non-local customers patronizing these businesses. Certain market segments will be targeted including retirees who will enjoy a safe and attractive atmosphere and young to middle age customers with stores that cater to their interests and events that their children will enjoy while shopping with their parents or grandparents. These types of businesses will be complemented by restaurants and other specialty stores.
Our association will be the driving force to keep the downtown area alive by promoting the businesses and providing information and professional training that would not otherwise be available. To accomplish this, the Board of Directors will have to stay informed of the desires and needs of our membership.
The downtown area will be attractive and litter-free, with well maintained landscaping and other amenities. It will be a recruiting tool to complement our schools, hospital, and other businesses as prospects look to locate in New Albany and Union County. |
